Welcome to Jubilee Hall Community Centre

Jubilee Hall was first opened in 1977, and named after the Queen’s Silver Jubilee. Originally used by Social Services, it became a registered charity in 2000 and a company limited by guarantee in 2013. It is largely volunteer run: there are three trustees and a management committee all of whom are elected by the members. Apart from some small capital grants, we are self-funding. In 2015 we were the local Sainsbury’s charity of the year. We run an outside catering business as a social enterprise. We run a community café We run a community meals service We facilitate a range of activities and run some ourselves. Our aims are:

  • to provide a welcoming environment for our users and a place for the wider community
  • to meet; to promote health, well-being and inclusiveness through our activities;
  • to provide good value, home cooked nutritious meals to older and vulnerable residents in the WF2 area of Wakefield.

Upcoming Events

"Jubilee Hall has been just what we were looking for: suitable accommodation for our activities at a price we can afford in the heart of the local community. We love the fact that everyone knows where it is, and we admire the efforts of the committee to invest in the centre for the future. We've been made to feel very welcome and nothing has been too much trouble."
"We received complements all night long about how good the food was. Thank you for helping to make my birthday party a party to remember."
