Jubilee Hall was first opened in 1977, and named after the Queen’s Silver Jubilee. Originally used by Social Services, it became a registered charity in 2000 and a company limited by guarantee in 2013. It is largely volunteer run: there are three trustees and a management committee all of whom are elected by the members. Apart from some small capital grants, we are self-funding. In 2015 we were the local Sainsbury’s charity of the year.
We run an outside catering business as a social enterprise.
We run a community café
We run a community meals service
We facilitate a range of activities and run some ourselves.
Our aims are: to provide a welcoming environment for our users and a place for the wider community;
- To meet
- To promote health, well-being and inclusiveness through our activities
- To provide good value, home cooked nutritious meals to older and vulnerable residents in the WF2 area of Wakefield.
